Careers InDemand: Commercial Truck Driving

WDVM has partnered with LFCC to Bring You Careers InDemand

WDVM has partnered with Lord Fairfax Community College Workforce Solutions Professional Development and Continuing Education to bring you Careers InDemand. Every Thursday, they feature technical trade careers that are needed in the community.

Last week, WDVM checked out our CDL training program at the Lord Fairfax Community College. Winchester Training Center’s manager, Brittany Herra was interviewed to discuss our Class A CDL training options. Commercial truck driving is the most in-demand credential and career in the Shenandoah Valley with over 2,000 job openings annually.

At our Winchester Training Center, we provide both Class A CDL and Class B CDL training. In order to obtain your CDL, you need to be over the age of 18, have a driver’s license, and pass a physical. From there, you can engage in training courses through a program like Lord Fairfax Community College where you can earn the necessary skills. Once you complete your training and earn your license, graduates can choose from driving locally, regionally, or over-the-road.

To learn more about the program options at CDS Tractor Trailer Training, check out our CDL Training page or give our Winchester Training Center a call at 540-868-9740.
