National Truck Driver Appreciation Week

4 Reasons to Appreciate the Rock Stars of the Road

National Truck Driver’s Appreciation Week is here to remind us all to recognize and appreciate the real rock stars of our roads: truck drivers.

Here are four reasons why you should appreciate truckers for their hard work and determination…

1. Truckers Keep Us Entertained

Who really makes concerts in our cities happen? If you’ve never thought about it, you may be tempted to believe that it is solely the effort of the artists. However, truck drivers work diligently behind the scenes to transport the equipment, stages and sets needed for concerts and entertainment acts.

2. Trucks Transport the Nation’s Goods

Truck drivers’ lives are dedicated to driving from one city to another to transport goods to you and me. Truckers transport food, electronics, and consumer goods that you use in your daily life. Without truck drivers, your life as you know it would be VERY different.

3. Being a Truck Driver is Difficult

Like any other job, being a truck driver is difficult. Truck drivers drive approximately 112,000 miles every year. 50% of truck drivers spend 200 of their nights on the road every year, selflessly sacrificing quality time that could be spent with their families to deliver goods where they need to be, when they need to be there.

4. Without Trucks, America Stops!

The goods in any store you’ve ever been in were brought there by truck. Imagine how many food, medicine, and gas shortages would occur without dedicated truck drivers to deliver them conveniently to you. Things you often take for granted are made possible by the true rock stars of road: truck drivers.

These are just 4 of the many reasons you should show truck drivers appreciation–not just during National Truck Driver Appreciation Week, but every day.
