What to Expect from the Admissions Process

Admissions Requirements

Meeting the enrollment requirements at CDS Tractor Trailer Training means you have the potential to start a career in one of the country’s most in-demand careers.

To meet CDS’s admissions requirements, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years old (for interstate driving, you must be 21 or over)
  • Have a valid regular driver’s license and a clean driving record
  • Pass a DOT physical examination
  • Pass written knowledge tests
  • Have documentation:
    • Proving your identity, US citizenship or legal residency
    • A valid Social Security Number

Yes, a valid driver’s license and clean driving record are required to enroll in a CDL training program.

Can I still work my current job while going through training, or is this a full-time commitment?

Yes. Many students choose to continue working while attending classes in CDL school. Courses are offered either full-time or part-time to provide flexibility for working students.
